About our Texas ESA letter service

Why we exist

Search for an ESA letter in Texas and you will find two kinds of website:

• The first sells a "registration" — a number, a certificate, sometimes a plastic ID card with a paw print — for $39, instantly, with no clinician involved.
• The second sells a letter in under an hour from a provider you never speak to and whose license you cannot verify.

Both create the same problem for the buyer. Texas tightened its rules in 2021 precisely because of that market.

Today a Texas landlord may require written verification from a licensed health professional with personal knowledge of the tenant's need, and knowingly submitting fraudulent documentation is a criminal offense. A certificate bought in ninety seconds does not meet that bar — and the tenant is the one holding it when the property manager starts asking questions.

We started Texas ESA Registration to do the unglamorous version properly: a real intake, a licensed Texas clinician, a real appointment, a documented encounter, and a letter written for the person who has to accept it.

We kept the name people search for and put the truth on the homepage. There is no registry, and anyone selling you one is selling a souvenir.

How we practice

Texas licensure, every time

Every assessment is conducted by a provider licensed in Texas: licensed professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, licensed psychologists, licensed marriage and family therapists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners.

Your letter carries the license type, number, and state, so a housing provider can verify it independently. We never route Texas clients to out-of-state clinicians — that is one of the most common defects in letters that get rejected.

The appointment is not a formality

You meet your clinician by live video. They review your intake, then ask about symptoms, functional limitations, history of care, and how the animal fits into your day, before making an independent judgment.

Roughly one in seven applicants is not approved. Some are redirected toward a psychiatric service dog assessment, some toward ongoing treatment, and some are told plainly that documentation would not be honest. Those clients are refunded in full.

Written for the reader who has to accept it

A good accommodation letter answers exactly the questions a housing provider may ask, then stops. Ours state:

• That a disability-related need exists
• That the animal is part of a treatment plan
• Who the clinician is, and their license type, number, and state
• The date of clinical contact

No diagnosis, and no registration number — because no such number exists. A letter offering one tells a compliance officer the provider does not understand the law.

We answer the phone after you pay

• Verification calls and emails from landlords, HOA boards, and disability services offices — included for the full 12 months.
• Re-issue at no charge if a property manager needs the letter re-addressed after you move.
• If you are denied, we walk you through the escalation path before you consider paying anyone else.

What we are not

• Not a registry or certifying body, and not a government agency. No affiliation with HUD, the DOJ, or the DOT.
• Not a law firm. When a housing dispute needs a lawyer we say so and point you toward Texas legal aid.
• Not crisis care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

We also do not promise outcomes. No clinician can guarantee that a specific landlord will approve a specific request, and any service that does is telling you something it cannot know.
